  • Maintain detailed project documentation and ensure adherence to QA/QC procedures.
  • Assist in the development of abatement design plans and technical bidding specifications.
  • Support other environmental projects, including indoor air quality assessments, lead-based paint inspections, and hazardous materials surveys, as needed.
  • Prepare inspection reports, abatement documentation, and regulatory submittals.
  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and compliance strategies to clients.
  • Perform air monitoring, abatement oversight, and clearance sampling for asbestos projects.
  • Conduct asbestos inspections and surveys in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations (including AHERA, NESHAP, OSHA).
  • Stay up to date on evolving asbestos regulations and industry best practices.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Familiarity with applicable regulations (EPA, OSHA, NESHAP, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently in field settings and travel to project sites.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Illinois-specific Asbestos Inspector and Asbestos Abatement Design licenses required (or ability to obtain quickly in states where Fehr Graham operates).
  • 3–5 years of relevant environmental consulting experience with a strong focus on hazardous building materials-related work.
