The Piledriver is knowledgeable in heavy rigging and preferably has basic to advanced rigging certification (per NCCER). The role requires learning and understanding all safety hazards related to the work and safely using or operating the necessary tools and equipment. Work will be performed in a plant operations environment or on a construction jobsite.
Physical demands include the ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 lb (occasionally up to 100 lb), repetitive use of hands, arms, and legs, and strong hand‑eye coordination. The employee must be able to communicate verbally, perform tasks ranging from sedentary to heavy work, operate various hand and power tools, and climb or maintain balance on steel or wood frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds. Frequent grasping, lifting, handling, and feeling of objects are required, along with prolonged bending, walking, crawling, kneeling, overhead reaching, squatting, and standing. The worker must navigate uneven, muddy, or soft surfaces, may work in confined spaces, and will be exposed to adverse weather conditions.
Mentally, the position demands effective communication with management and supervision, as well as strong reading and writing comprehension for giving and receiving directions and safety policies. Candidates must be capable of performing calculations and using math, working at various tempos, and concentrating amid distractions. Decision‑making skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remember, examine, and observe details are essential.
