
General Description: Specific Duties: Experience and Educational Requirements: Reviewed by: Date: SENIOR ESTIMATOR Exempt Estimating Director of Pre‐Construction, Chief Estimator The Senior Estimator will manage the estimating process for large, complex construction projects, lead teams, and develop detailed cost estimates from conceptual to final design. This role involves providing strategic insights to ensure project success and profitability. The ideal candidate will have extensive estimating experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, across Erland’s Multifamily, Commercial, Academic, and Life Science sectors. Strong presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate and explain all aspects of a project in detail to senior management and clients Ability to lead estimating teams including estimators, junior estimators, and co-ops Experience preparing detailed conceptual estimates at the early stages of projects and reconciling these estimates as the design evolves Prepare quantity takeoffs to establish baseline pricing and scopes of work across all divisions Utilize historical data, construction knowledge, and industry benchmarks to develop estimates Manage and track subcontractor participation on projects Collaborate with preconstruction managers to develop logistic plans and schedules that align with estimated costs Ability to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and strategies through value management Contribute to business development initiatives, including interviews and client presentations Provide transition services from preconstruction to operations at turnover meetings Develop and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders Research and stay current with industry trends, construction methods, and pricing Minimum BS in Construction Management or equivalent experience. Minimum (8) years construction experience with a minimum of (6) years of estimating experience. Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methods. Working knowledge of related computer programs (Excel, Bluebeam, OST) required.
