Perform detailed and SOX-compliant review of staffs journal entries and disclosures for the Companys SEC Form 10-K and 10-Q filings, as well as regulatory filings.
Review staffs analysis of various liabilities and reserves. Lead clear, focused, and efficient meetings with business users or law to discuss adequacy of existing reserves.
The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Review and oversee the preparation of new and revised accounting opinions and general accounting procedures, ensuring proper accounting, documentation, and implementation. Maintain focus on management staffs preparation of general accounting procedures to meet departmental KPI.
Lead teams for projects such as system imlpementations or upgrades or new standard imlementations, as required.
Research and review FASB, SEC and FERC/PSC accounting standards and requirements, and ensure the proper implementation of new accounting standards of all CEI companies.
Oversee staffs timely response to requests from internal and external auditors and prepare documentation for complex audit matters.
Sit or stand to answer a phone for the duration of the workday
Oversee the preparation of employee benefit plans' financial statements, including review of tie-out binders.
