Design, construction and/or testing of fire alarm and fire protection systems
Support with commissioning related proposal pursuit efforts.
Participate in active field reviews, testing, issue documentation capture and issues resolution of mechanical, and building automation related technical services within facilities.
Lead the development of functional performance test scripts based upon project specific sequences of operation for mechanical systems.
Assist in the development of project commissioning documentation including Checksheets, commissioning plans and commissioning specifications
Performing building envelope condition assessment and/or building envelope commissioning
Assist in the coordination and implementation of commissioning and performance testing processes and methodologies, this includes effective recording of project details and findings.
Assist in reviewing commissioned systems documentation including contractor submittals, QC documentation, Vendor startup reports and O&M manuals
Witnessing and documenting automation controls verifications and sensor calibrations, as well as air and water balancing procedures and balancing results.
Design with building mechanical systems and electrical systems
Lead the effort with respect to witnessing and documenting functional performance testing of mechanical, electrical and life safety systems.
Review design drawings and specifications and reporting to Clients to verify the proposed design satisfies the Owner’s project requirements.
Assist in the development of detailed and concise reports and support the documenting of the commissioning process.
Supporting and participating in a wide variety of building performance engineering projects, including office and onsite project duties.
Participate in project commissioning meeting while developing experience to chair commissioning meetings.

Considered an asset if you have experience with any of the following: Practiced working knowledge of LEED and related sustainability guidelines and workflows pertaining to commissioning
Have a proficient understanding of and experience with troubleshooting mechanical building systems, as well as building automation/controls systems.
Excellent computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, etc.) and basic experience in implementing project schedules (utilizing Microsoft Project, Prima Vera, etc.).
Have strong and effective technical writing and verbal communication skills.
Either have or be eligible and intend to pursue at least one Commissioning related certification; e.g. BCA, ASHRAE, NEBB, AABC or equivalents.
Have a strong knowledge of Building Automation Systems
Have experience or be able to successfully execute tasks related to the Commissioning Process
Engineer in Training or Certified Engineering Technologist in Mechanical or Building Systems.
3 to 5 years of building design or construction experience specific to building mechanical systems
Be selfsufficient and selfmotivated with strong negotiation skills.
General consulting experience
Able to work independently while managing multiple tasks and ensuring deadlines are met.
Any currently relevant sustainable design practices, such as energy modelling or audits, daylight calculations, water conservation, etc.
Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record as this role will require domestic travel
