Certified women‑owned construction services firm specializing in medical equipment integration and field service.
This is a part‑time role with the possibility of becoming full‑time. The Audio‑Visual Integration Technician will pull and terminate cables, interpret wire diagrams, install equipment, and program proprietary AV systems for the company's clients, who specialize in digital billboard displays for commercial settings. The position includes patching equipment, installing media programs and displays, and troubleshooting those displays.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities involve dressing, labeling, cutting, and terminating various cable types, installing and managing video routers, switches, cameras, and wall‑mounted displays, as well as programming and troubleshooting AV advertisement hardware. The technician must also keep accurate inventory records, complete daily reports and project documentation, and collaborate with the team to deliver high‑quality service within project scope.
The role requires proficiency with a range of tools such as voltage meters, soldering irons, tone generators, and network cable testers, as well as the ability to read ceiling plans, elevation drawings, and room‑flow diagrams. Candidates must be comfortable working in confined spaces, quickly learn new software, operate mobile devices, and make decisive judgments while escalating issues when needed. Basic knowledge of AC/DC voltage and competency with Microsoft Office and web portals are also essential.
Applicants need a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of AV experience, preferably in conference‑room installations. Preferred candidates have completed a trade‑school program in AV technologies and hold certifications such as AVIXA, Crestron, Extron, Dante, or Biamp, along with experience pulling and terminating fiber‑optic cable for large‑scale projects. Mathematical skills for fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions are also valuable.
The position involves both indoor and outdoor work in potentially hazardous environments, requiring adherence to safety procedures, use of personal protective equipment, and the ability to work at heights, near moving machinery, and in noisy conditions. Good visual acuity is needed for reviewing data and reading plans, and reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
Compensation ranges from $27 to $32 per hour, based on experience, and includes local and national discounts through Benefit Hub. There is also the potential for the role to transition into full‑time employment.
