xPL OSM Application Engineer – Electrical
Turner Construction Company
A leading construction firm delivering projects across diverse sectors including commercial, residential, and industrial.
Design electrical systems for offsite manufactured and modular building components, ensuring compliance with electrical performance, safety, and compliance standards while optimizing for transport, assembly, and installation on-site.
Stay current on innovations in electrical engineering and OSM construction techniques.
Exercise independent judgment in engineering decisions to develop designs and in review and approval of engineering drawings, specifications, and project documents and confirm coordination of vendor drawings to engineering requirements.
Collaborate with Architects, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Structural Engineers, and other construction disciplines to seamlessly integrate OSM Medium/Low Voltage (MV/LV) electrical systems into design documents.
Create detailed electrical drawings using mechanical design, product development, and/or Building Information Modeling applications.
Conduct manufacturing shop floor and field visits to verify constructability and alignment with operational needs.
Assess materials and construction methods for optimal performance and cost efficiency.
Prepare technical studies, specifications, cost estimates, and proposal evaluations.
Develop electrical designs for xPL Offsite Manufacturing (OSM) products and systems, including single line development, equipment and component selections, submittal development, and system optimization.
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure and maintain active accreditation as required
Engage in client-facing and cross-functional discussions to coordinate electrical designs, propose solutions to mitigate risks and finalize electrical designs.
Partner with xPL OSM manufacturing team to oversee designs that optimize production, assembly, transportation, and site installation.
Support research and development efforts focused on developing and enhancing OSM products and solutions.

Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited institution in Electrical Engineering, or related field, with minimum of 6 years of experience in electrical design or related role, or equivalent education, training, and experience
Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office suite of applications, with intermediate Excel skills
Management of competing demands and able to meet established deadlines
Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
Able to exercise independent judgment in engineering decisions and project execution
