IUT Level 2 inspector

Description

The Level II Inspector will work within a dedicated inspection cell, collaborating with other inspectors, technicians, and production personnel to ensure efficient workflow, consistent quality, and timely delivery of inspected parts. This team‑based structure promotes cross‑functional support, shared accountability, and continuous improvement. Compensation is offered at $32–$45 per hour, dependent on experience.

• Perform calibrations and immersion ultrasonic inspections to accept or reject aerospace components.
• Set up, verify, and maintain immersion ultrasonic systems and transducers for accurate, repeatable inspections.
• Interpret and document test results, recording equipment settings and evaluation outcomes per quality requirements.
• Collaborate with inspection cell team to ensure efficient part flow, consistent quality, and schedule adherence.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in line with Element’s safety culture.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and NDT procedures accurately.
• Use digital documentation systems for traceability and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

Element is seeking a certified NDT Ultrasonic Level II Inspector (Immersion) to conduct immersion ultrasonic inspections on aerospace components according to specifications, procedures, and customer requirements. The inspector will handle setup, calibration, operation of immersion equipment, select appropriate techniques, and evaluate results to determine conformance and detect discontinuities. The role demands strong technical knowledge of ultrasonic theory, transducer selection, sound beam characteristics, and familiarity with aerospace materials and manufacturing processes, while complying with NAS‑410 or equivalent standards.

• Hold a current Level II UT certification (NAS‑410, SNT‑TC‑1A, or equivalent) with proficiency in immersion techniques.
• Possess at least one year of hands‑on UT immersion inspection experience on aerospace or critical components.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of ultrasonic theory, sound beam physics, transducer selection, and data interpretation.
