Key duties include cleaning communal areas such as stairwells, corridors, lifts and shared facilities, managing waste and recycling, testing communal equipment like fire alarms and lighting, and recording work using manual or digital systems. The caretaker must work safely with power tools, chemicals and vehicles, and act as a point of contact for residents, handling queries and liaising with Together Housing colleagues.
- Clean communal areas (stairwells, corridors, lifts, shared facilities) to required standards.
- Manage internal waste and recycling, including ordering skips, emptying bins, and recording waste levels.
- Test communal equipment such as fire alarms and lighting as directed.
- Record work using manual or digital systems and report incomplete tasks.
- Operate power tools, chemicals and vehicles safely in line with health and safety regulations.
- Serve as the primary contact for residents, responding to queries and providing excellent customer service.
- Inclusion support networks for menopause, cultural diversity, LGBTQ+ and disability.

The ideal candidate holds a full manual UK driver’s licence, has practical experience in cleaning or caretaking, and is familiar with equipment such as buffing machines and vacuums. Experience with minor repairs, solid numeracy and written skills, and proven customer‑service ability are also required.
