We have an immediate opportunity for a Forensic Project Engineer with interests in structural forensic investigation, litigation support, risk loss consulting, structural repair, and retrofit design. This individual will be expected to execute structural investigations of existing buildings and to design remedial repairs for deficient conditions. The investigations include failure cause and origin analysis, feasibility analyses, risk loss insurance and claims response, and litigation support. The candidate will be required to provide direction to, and review the work product of, junior-level staff, coordinate with other project managers on interdisciplinary efforts, support marketing efforts, and develop and maintain client relationships.

Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

  • Degree (Master’s preferred) in structural engineering or related field; an undergraduate degree is required.
  • Proficient in Revit; experience with AutoCAD a plus
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the US and internationally.
  • Basic knowledge of finite element modeling.
  • At least four years of experience related to forensic structural engineering or new construction.
  • Professional Engineer and/or SE License preferred.
  • Field experience with diverse building types preferred.
Benefits

The rate for this position generally is $95,000 - $110,000 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the Massachusetts Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is based on what a successful Massachusetts applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in Massachusetts or perform the position from Massachusetts. Similar positions located outside of Massachusetts will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by Massachusetts Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee’s pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
