The open positions—Component Specialist, Nuclear Engineer, and Senior Nuclear Engineer—focus on optimizing the performance of motors, pumps, and related components across Xcel’s nuclear fleet. The role provides technical leadership, strategic component ownership, and hands‑on troubleshooting, while developing long‑range improvement plans and coaching site engineering and maintenance teams. Candidates will also supervise major maintenance, manage outages, and contribute to training and procedural development.
Component Specialists must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, possess at least five years of power‑plant experience (including three years in nuclear operations), and have strong expertise in motors and pumps; an SRO license and supervisory experience are preferred. Nuclear Engineers require a BS in engineering (ABET‑accredited), six years of engineering experience in nuclear generation or comparable settings, and the ability to obtain unescorted plant access; a PE license, SRO certification, or advanced degree are a plus. Senior Nuclear Engineers need eight or more years of engineering experience with demonstrated problem‑solving expertise, similar access qualifications, and preference for PE, SRO, and graduate education.
Base pay for these roles ranges from $95,200 to $160,766 annually, supplemented by an Annual Incentive Program and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, parental leave, tuition reimbursement, fitness reimbursements, and transportation assistance.
