Description

The role involves creating comprehensive substation design deliverables, including general arrangement plans, equipment layouts, elevation views, material bills, and detailed grounding and conduit schematics.

Additional responsibilities include integrating vendor information, conducting on‑site walkdowns, and ensuring all work complies with the client’s standards, with a hybrid schedule requiring three days per week in the office.

• Prepare substation general arrangement, electrical equipment plans, section views, detailed bill of material, lightning shielding, grounding, conduit, raceway, and control building plans.
• Interpret and incorporate vendor information into design deliverables.
• Perform walkdowns at client facilities.
• Apply client standards to all design work.

Requirements

Candidates must have at least 12 years of substation physical design experience, an Associate’s Degree in Drafting (or equivalent technical background), and proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation, as well as strong 3‑D visualization skills. This position does not sponsor work authorization in the U.S.

• 12+ years of substation physical design experience.
• Associate’s Degree in Drafting or high school diploma with 2+ years drafting coursework/technical experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without computer aid.
• Valued knowledge: associate degree in Computer‑Aided Design and understanding of design techniques, tools, and engineering science application.

The compensation range for this role is $82,120 to $128,570, complemented by a discretionary annual bonus and a workplace culture recognized with the Top Workplaces Culture Excellence Award for three consecutive years.
