Senior Project Manager - Havant Thicket Reservoir

Description

• Ensure project development is in accordance with the standards of, specifications, requirements and policies established by Portsmouth Water and Havant Thicket Project.
• Regular meetings with Stakeholders, to monitor schedule of works and coordinate activity.
• Oversee all direct reports allocated to the project packages and their future successful progression.
• Production of monthly progress reports and governance approval papers.
• Lead procurement, monitoring, and performance of the contract/subcontract packages.
• Represent Portsmouth Water and Non-Statutory Sub-Group meetings.
• Projects completed to time, cost and quality, ensuring the project is delivered within the agreed ODI target dates and the regulatory allowance.
• Liaise with Portsmouth Water internal stakeholders to ensure that the project is ready for a seamless handover into operation on completion through asset integration.
• Liaise with external stakeholders to secure agreement or acceptance of the project delivery plans.
• Ensure the works are carried out in accordance with the Havant Thicket Health and Safety Management Plan, and Portsmouth Water Health and Safety policies.

Requirements

• Strong communication and team leadership skills
• Experience of leading major, complex civil infrastructure projects, particularly in the water sector.
• Strong appreciation of risk management techniques, with experience of managing budgets for large construction projects.
• NEC contract management experience is essential, ideally with Option C target cost experience
• Good knowledge of construction materials, processes and equipment.
• Experience of reservoir works and/or major earthworks would be an advantage
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study
• Full driving licence (all applicants will be required to undertake a driving assessment)
• Experience of using Contract Management Software
• Recognised supervisory qualification or be able to commit to obtain such a qualification.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft packages including; Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Teams.
• More than 10 years of experience in design and construction management
• Good analytical skills with the ability to review and write technical specifications, procurement strategies, business cases, decision support papers and progress reports.
