Graduate Environmental Scientist - (Contamination Assessment & Remediation) - Tasmania

Description

• Field oversight of contractors;
• Working with intermediate and senior staff implementing environmental investigations including conducting field investigations, including drilling (various rig types), monitoring well and soil vapour installation oversight; conducting and coordination of environmental monitoring (soil, sediment, groundwater, soil vapour, surface water);
• Preparation of technical environmental reports for senior review
• Maintain safety training to conduct environmental contaminated sites work
• Assistance with data compilation and interpretation
• Assistance with field scope development, scheduling, budgeting

Requirements

• Has a strong interest in chemistry, soil, groundwater, contamination assessment, and remediation methods.
• 0 to 2 years of experience in environmental consulting
• Strong technical writing, data analysis and interpretation skills.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication is required to effectively express technical information to multiple audiences including subcontractors, clients, colleagues, etc.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Knowledge of contaminated sites regulation and associated guidance, protocols, and guidelines.
• Will graduate by December 2025 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science or equivalent
• Valid full driver's license and is comfortable with long distance and off-road driving (training will be provided)
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office
