This individual may also have opportunities to work in other areas within Engineering Standards & Support as well as participate in field visits to observe field operations, construction practices and maintenance procedures
Provide technical support to AltaLink's Engineering Standards users as well as to internal and cross-company procurement initiatives
Support the selection, evaluation, and implementation of new technology
Support of the definition and implementation of long-term strategies and philosophies related to asset management
Governance of AltaLink's Engineering Standards Process and corresponding portfolio including written standards, specifications, and drawings for AltaLink's power system assets
Creation and update of AltaLink's engineering standards in collaboration with the broader Engineering community
Assist in the evaluation of new manufacturers or manufacturing facilities
Assist in the ongoing governance of the Engineering Standards Process and maintenance/evolution of the Engineering Standards Library and related information repositories
Update and evolve AltaLink's list of standardized equipment and material as well as AltaLink's technically approved manufacturers
Assist in the review and approval of new and existing material for purchase as well as the update of AltaLink's list of standardized material (the Material Item Catalog)
Assist in the organization, generation, and maintenance of AltaLink standards, specifications, and drawings. Research into material specifications, current industry standards and utility practices will be required
