Geomatics Survey Crew Chief

Description

• Supervise geomatics/survey crew members.
• Formulate workflow plans for various geomatics projects.
• Analyze and interpret public records such as deeds and plans.
• Supervise operation of data collection systems including total stations, GPS, and reality capture equipment.
• Ensure accurate layout and measurement of land surfaces.
• Maintain equipment and vehicles properly.
• Communicate with the public as needed.
• Document all phases of work through field notes, daily reports, and project documentation.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge and experience using surveying equipment (GPS, total stations, reality capture).
• Proficient with survey and reality capture software.
• Strong understanding of geomatics mathematics, geometry, trigonometry, and data collection principles.
• Ability to read engineering, architectural, and structural drawings.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Minimum 1+ year geomatics or professional land surveying experience.
• High school diploma or GED; degree in Geomatics, Survey Engineering, or Engineering preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D, MicroStation/Inroads/OpenRoads, Leica equipment, and GIS is desirable.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.

The position offers an hourly salary range of $28 to $37, with final compensation determined by individual qualifications, education, and experience. Additional compensation factors may apply.
