- Prepare and check functional block diagrams.
- Design and application of tubing and instrument installations.
- Execute to schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product.
- Specification of instrumentation and control valves.
- Some travel to plant and supplier facilities may be required.
- Allocation and layout of facility control system I/O.
- Prepare and check control narratives.
- Advise and guide junior engineers.
- Coordination of technical issues with other engineering disciplines (e.g. Electrical, Mechanical ) and other functions (e.g., Construction, Startup).
- Prepare and check instrument and control valve data sheets and material requisitions.
- Prepare and check digital and analog control logic.
- Populate instrumentation, valve, and I/O databases.
- Review of supplier provided data and documentation.
- Design and review of Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) to add control/functionality for intermediate process control systems.
- Coordination of physical locations of instrumentation, control valves, control cabinets, etc.
- Design and check control cabinet layouts.
