Description

The Electrical Superintendent II plays a key support role in overseeing electrical construction activities on complex life‑science, food & beverage, and mission‑critical projects. Working closely with an Electrical Superintendent III or Senior Superintendent, the role helps manage electrical subcontractors, ensure installation quality, and maintain project safety and schedule compliance.

The superintendent typically supports execution of specific electrical scopes—including branch distribution, lighting, grounding, low‑voltage systems—while enforcing safety and QA/QC procedures and overseeing equipment installation.

• Develop and manage short‑interval schedules, prefabrication plans, and manpower for electrical scopes.
• Coordinate daily activities with mechanical, structural, and general trades.
• Ensure timely delivery and staging of electrical materials, tools, and equipment.
• Conduct daily quality walks to verify installations meet code and project specifications.
• Create and execute QA/QC plans, inspections, checklists, and turnover documentation.
• Assist in commissioning preparation, including equipment verification and cable testing.
• Support installation of UPS systems, generators, switchgear, PDUs/RPPs, grounding grids, and low‑voltage systems.
• Participate in readiness walks and integrated systems testing with commissioning teams.
• Align installation methods with redundancy and uptime requirements (e.g., A/B feeds, segregated pathways).
• Enforce electrical safety procedures such as LOTO, arc‑flash, and energized‑work avoidance.
• Lead daily safety checks with field electricians and subcontractors.
• Direct and support electrical foremen and subcontractors on daily installations.
• Resolve issues with senior leadership, engineering, and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to coordination and planning meetings as needed.

Requirements

• 5–8+ years of electrical construction field experience.
• Experience in life‑science, food & beverage, or mission‑critical/data‑center environments.
• Strong QA/QC background, especially testing, inspections, and documentation.
• Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, electrical systems, and commissioning processes.
• Proven ability to supervise electrical subcontractors and foremen.
• Proficiency with construction platforms such as Procore, BIM 360, and Bluebeam.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
