Prepare and/or review design calculations, engineering reports, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
Work as a team member within the Longmont office and across other Schnabel offices to effectively balance workload among available resources.
Provide engineering expertise, technical oversight and overall management of earth embankment dams, water storage reservoirs and conveyance engineering projects.
Perform project management activities including planning and delegating work, managing project budgets, invoicing, communicating resource needs and reporting backlog.
Manage client relationships.
Supervise construction related engineering services.
Supervise and mentor junior engineers.
Proactively market and develop dam engineering business opportunities.

Experience with construction of water storage and conveyance structures.
Experience with construction of earth embankment dams, spillways, and drain systems.
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) and the ability to obtain reciprocity.
Experience/proficiency with common computer-aided analyses and modeling programs applicable to dam and general hydraulic engineering.
A Master’s Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.
Prefer willingness to travel, with some overnight travel.
Ability to pass a pre-employment screening
Attention to detail and well-organized.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or other related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program.
Experience preparing and reviewing construction drawings and technical specifications.
Experience and knowledge of applicable state and federal dam safety design methodologies, policies and regulations.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
A strong work ethic and the desire to perform professionally at a high level.
Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit check
15 years plus of relevant work experience in design of water storage, control, measurement and conveyance infrastructure.
