The Sr. Mechatronics & Robotics Technician leads service technicians in installing and repairing automated packaging and distribution equipment. This role supports the Operations Maintenance team by designing solutions for complex problems, managing projects, and training and mentoring service and contract technicians.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities include promoting a safe working environment, maintaining and troubleshooting conveyor systems, leading preventative‑maintenance audits, and installing and troubleshooting control components such as relay logic, motor starters, sensors, and solenoids. The technician also creates and closes work orders with detailed labor and parts data, builds positive relationships across the facility, and develops training and emergency‑repair plans.
Required qualifications are a high school diploma or equivalent, flexible schedule availability, 3+ years of preventative‑maintenance experience, 3+ years reading blueprints and schematics, and 2+ years of work‑order management. Preferred qualifications include an associate or higher degree in mechanical/electrical fields, 5+ years with automated conveyors and controls, leadership and vendor‑management experience, and familiarity with robotic maintenance, MHE safety standards, and CMMS.
The role demands repetitive bending, lifting up to 49 lb, standing or walking for up to 12‑hour shifts, and working in small, dusty, noisy, or temperature‑extreme environments, including heights and cramped spaces around machinery.
Compensation is estimated at $72,800 annually for this on‑site position in Niagara Falls, NY.
