The EV Charging Station Technician is responsible for on‑site repair and maintenance of EV charging stations within a specific geographic region of NYC, NY. The role is essentially a dedicated EV technician for a strategic account, covering multiple sites in a metropolitan area. The technician must work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to various field conditions.
- Ensure site safety and conduct safety assessments, including JHA, LOTO, and OSHA documentation.
- Perform electrical system maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on Level 2 and DC Fast EV chargers.
- Prepare detailed site field reports and work order documentation, including parts, warranty, and service reports.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system performance issues, ground faults, and conduct OEM testing such as insulation, thermal imaging, and torque tests.
- Follow repair manuals, service bulletins, and communicate with customers and Network Services providers to confirm completion.
- Conduct predictive analysis and preventive maintenance according to eMobility standards, MSAs, and SLAs.
- Collaborate with the eMobility Service team to optimize maintenance schedules and route planning.

The position requires a strong electrical maintenance and troubleshooting background, emphasizing white‑glove service escalation to minimize charger downtime, uphold partner relationships, and ensure high charger utilization with urgency.
The role includes flexibility to work outside normal hours, weekends, and up to 25% travel domestically across North America, primarily within the NYC metro area, with occasional travel for training or other customers.
- Be available for planned and unplanned overtime and emergency response.
- Minimum 2 years experience servicing electrical power equipment or formal electrical/electronic training; High School diploma or GED.
- Strong electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting skills; knowledge of EV chargers preferred.
- Understanding of OSHA safety requirements, LOTO, Arc Flash, JHA/JSA.
- Valid state driver’s license; Salesforce experience a plus.
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems independently with high results orientation.
- Excellent customer service communication and technical aptitude.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfortable with tech‑savvy learning of innovative eMobility technologies.
- Demonstrated safe work practices, strong work ethic, self‑starter attitude, and ability to work with little supervision.
- Flexibility to work outside normal hours/weekends and travel up to 25% domestically.
Benefits
Pay ranges from $45 to $55 per hour, with the exact offer based on education, experience, skills, abilities, location, and market data. Eligible employees may also participate in a company incentive or bonus program.
