Identify deficiencies, potential risks, or non-compliance issues and communicate findings to project managers and engineers.

Conduct on-site inspections of water and wastewater facilities, including treatment plants, pump stations, storage tanks, and distribution systems.
Monitor contractor activities to ensure quality control and adherence to safety standards.
Participate in project meetings to provide inspection updates and support problem resolution.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, progress reports, and any corrective actions required.
Ensure environmental and regulatory compliance during construction and operations.
Document observations through detailed inspection reports, photographs, and daily logs.
Assist in testing, commissioning, and start-up inspections of equipment and systems.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and report writing capabilities.
Familiarity with construction testing procedures (concrete, coatings, pipelines, mechanical/electrical systems).
Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and technical drawings.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to multiple job sites.
Previous experience inspecting water/wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, pipelines, or related infrastructure.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Professional certifications preferred but not required (e.g., Certified Construction Inspector, NICET, CWEA).
Competence in using inspection tools, field measurement equipment, and software (e.g., MS Office, inspection apps).
Knowledge of construction practices, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (AWWA, EPA, OSHA, state/local regulations).
