Description

As Team Leader for Bridge Inspection, you will evaluate and document the condition of bridges and other structures, creating comprehensive condition reports using agency‑provided software or other designated formats. You will coordinate inspections with an Assistant Team Leader and provide mentorship to junior staff, while maintaining clear communication with team members, clients, and subcontractors.

Requirements

The ideal candidate has recent bridge inspection experience with agencies such as NYSDOT, TBTA, Port Authority of NY&NJ, NYSTA, or NJDOT, and holds a valid NYS PE license or NJ PE license that can be transferred between states. Completion of the NHI Bridge Safety Inspection Course or NYSDOT Bridge Inspection Workshop, along with a valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record, is required.

The work environment combines professional office settings with field work, requiring travel to project sites and the ability to work in various weather conditions. Physical demands include climbing ladders, wading in streams, working around traffic and at heights, and lifting up to 50 lb, as well as prolonged periods of computer work.

• Hold a valid NYS or NJ Professional Engineer license (transferable).
• Possess recent bridge inspection experience with NYSDOT, TBTA, Port Authority, NYSTA, or NJDOT.
• Complete NHI Bridge Safety Inspection Course or NYSDOT Bridge Inspection Workshop.
• Maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
