National Highways is seeking a Senior Estates Surveyor to provide estate input into property projects, ensuring compliance with government legislation and that the estate is appropriately sized, located and maintained. The role involves delivering strategic property advice across National Highways offices and operational estates, with opportunities to lead individual transactions.
National Highways manages and improves England’s motorways and major A roads, prioritising safety, customers and delivery while upholding values of passion, integrity, safety, teamwork and ownership. Business Services supports the efficient operation and growth of the strategic road network, covering procurement, finance, HR, IT and strategic planning to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to stakeholder expectations.
The position is based in Leeds, though candidates near other National Highways offices in the UK will be considered. Work is offered on a flexible, hybrid basis, and the successful candidate will be required to travel to various national estate locations as needed.
The ideal candidate will be a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors with proven experience in landlord‑tenant transactions and property management, a track record of delivering estates projects on time, and the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences. Exposure to multiple industries within surveying and strong influencing and negotiation skills are also essential.
