You will play a critical role in the pre-construction planning by managing estimates, take-offs, and collaborating with subcontractors and suppliers. The Precon Manager oversees the commercial construction project's preconstruction phase, managing the budgeting, planning, and risk assessment to ensure the project aligns with the owner's goals before construction begins. Key responsibilities include creating budgets, developing project strategies, coordinating with design teams and subcontractors, and managing client relationships to set the project up for success.

  • Collaborate with the project team to prepare estimates and scopes of work.
  • Client Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and design teams, resolving challenges and representing the company positively.
  • Analyze project scopes for consistency among subcontractor proposals.
  • This role is a critical link between estimating and project execution.
  • Solicit subcontractors to ensure comprehensive coverage of projects.
  • Project Planning & Strategy: Develop project plans, strategies, and initial schedules to align with the owner's business goals
  • Perform accurate quantity take-offs and participate in pre-bid meetings/site visits.
  • Assist in preconstruction functions, including estimating and preparing proposals.

  • At least 5+ years of experience in estimating or pre-construction project planning.
  • Proficiency with Procore, BlueBeam, and ProEst software is preferred.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze technical data and make informed, adaptable decisions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Industry Expertise: A strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, and building codes.
