Finalize 3D CAD model and generate 2D CAD drawings of selected design.
Participate in early-stage concept development, including designing and creating preliminary 3D CAD models.
The intern will be guided throughout the design project by engineering team members but will be able to be a full participant in the design process.
Work with procurement to select vendors, receive quotations, and procure prototypes of selected design.
Interpret design validation test results to determine if design changes are necessary.
Present design concepts to engineering department as part of Preliminary Design Review
Work with ITT Cannon internal engineering lab and possibly external labs to observe testing set up and provide technical assistance as necessary.
Create Design Validation Test Plan for selected design
Perform design changes based on team feedback on selected final design concept.
Interpreting customer design input requirements. Including regulatory and environmental constraints in order to develop scope of work and estimate project hours and project schedule
Work with Engineering Documentation to release final design.

Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering program (BS/MS/PhD), in good standing
Knowledge/experience in CAD, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Knowledge of metals, plastics, and rubber materials helpful, but not required.
Knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical design principles.
Must continue enrollment in degree program upon completion of the internship.
Knowledge of designing for CNC machining and injection molding preferred
