The Loader Operator is responsible for operating a loader to move, stack, load, and unload poles and other materials. This role includes accurate handling of products on and off transportation vehicles and processing associated paperwork to ensure product accuracy. The operator maintains the loader’s operation, keeps the equipment, products, and work area clean, and works closely with all employees without supervisory duties.
Core duties involve loading and unloading wood poles and materials from railcars or trailers, operating all equipment safely, and performing daily maintenance and safety checks. The operator cleans and maintains equipment and work areas, handles materials to prevent damage, and organizes site material to maximize space and efficiency. They also maintain accurate inventory, read work orders to build loads according to customer specifications, and cooperate with management and coworkers to achieve safety, quality, and production goals.
Candidates must have experience operating heavy machinery, the ability to work overtime, basic math skills, and experience working in small teams. Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and basic computer skills such as scanning and emailing.
