Leads in the coordination and implementation of best practices and risk management initiatives related to resident care needs and the Home.
Presents an active presence/mentoring staff and overseeing the provision of quality care.
Assumes responsibility for the nursing department.
Effectively manages utilization of nursing supplies.

Minimum of one (1) year of experience working as a Registered Nurse in a managerial or supervisory capacity in a long-term care setting.
All applicants must successfully complete a Vulnerable Sector Check completed within 6 months of hire date
Is knowledgeable concerning the MOH Regulations and the FLTC Act.
Degree/Diploma in Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
Able to initiate investigations/CIS’s/follow up with staff/families initiated to ensure risks are identified/addressed with interventions/documentation updated/ongoing diligence with Home/MOL is completed as per the regulations.
Understanding of Occupational Health & Safety concepts and requirements
Knowledge of evidence-based practices and/or, if there are none, prevailing practices
Current C.P.R. designation is required
TB skin test or Chest X-ray - completed within 1 year of hire date
Minimum of three (3) years of experience working as a Registered Nurse in the long-term care.
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
