The Finance department drives the business forward by steering major investment projects, turning data into powerful insights, ensuring financial precision, upholding the highest reporting standards, and safeguarding the organisation’s integrity.
The Trainee Management Accountant role centers on monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations using Blackline, supporting month‑end close activities, preparing journals, handling accruals and ERP tasks, and acting as the system administrator for the Blackline platform while providing day‑to‑day support to the PRC team and collaborating with operational stakeholders to deliver reliable management accounts.
- Perform monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations and detailed account analysis using Blackline.
- Prepare and post financial journals, assist with accruals, pre‑payments, and ERP administrative tasks.
- Support month‑end close activities in line with GAAP requirements.
- Respond to ad‑hoc PRC queries, update supplier bank details, and maintain delegation of authority records.
- Administer the Blackline reconciliation platform, managing setup, controls and documentation.
- Explain accounting terminology clearly to non‑financial stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is currently studying toward a finance qualification such as CIMA, is graduate or AAT qualified, possesses strong Excel skills—including pivot tables, conditional formatting, charts and VLOOKUP—and can communicate accounting concepts clearly to non‑financial audiences, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to meet accounting‑period deadlines.
