As the Global Commodity Leader for Metals & Stampings, you will drive the strategic sourcing and supplier management for this critical commodity group. You’ll lead initiatives that optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance across global supply chains, while supporting new product introductions and long-term business objectives.

  • Risk Mitigation: Conduct milestone reviews to identify and address risks prior to product launch.
  • System Updates: Maintain accurate supplier data in MRP systems, including cost, lead times, MOQs, safety stock, and reorder points.
  • Capacity Planning: Develop models to estimate supplier manufacturing capacity and support investment decisions for ramp-up.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track supplier performance, conduct audits, manage recovery plans, and resolve red flags impacting delivery or quality.
  • Issue Resolution: Collaborate directly with suppliers and plant buyers to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve supply chain disruptions related to their products. Drive corrective actions and ensure continuity of material flow to support production schedules.
  • Contract Negotiation: Secure strategic supply agreements for critical components to ensure continuity and mitigate risk.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Line Sourcing, Fulfillment, Technology, and Product Management to align sourcing strategies with business goals.
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a global commodity strategy, including preferred supplier selection, communication protocols with design teams, and compliance enforcement.
  • Market Expertise: Build deep knowledge of global steel and aluminum markets. Serve as a technical and commercial resource for NPI teams to design cost-effective solutions.
  • Supplier Management: Lead supplier selection, qualification, development, and lifecycle management—from RFP to exit strategy.
  • Cost Optimization: Drive cost-out initiatives through contract negotiation, process improvements, and sustainable cost controls. Collaborate with Finance to validate savings and ledger impact.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field
  • Experience in global commodity markets and strategy development
  • Experience in should-cost modeling for assigned parts
  • Ability and willingness to travel globally
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven leadership in cross-functional teams and supply chain deliverables
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and SAP
  • Six Sigma or equivalent quality certification
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sourcing, supply chain, or commodity management
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
