Reporting to the Shift Lead, the Group Lead supervises a multidisciplinary team to ensure project delivery, maintains a safe work environment, and promotes continuous improvement across the shop floor.
- Plan, direct, and oversee team operations to achieve on‑time project completion.
- Interview, select, train, and develop staff while promoting a safe work environment.
- Lead employees to ensure accurate and timely work output.
- Communicate job expectations, coach, counsel, and enforce company policies and productivity standards.
- Train workers to interpret drawings, specifications, and instructions for accurate assembly.
- Create strategic weekly build plans, manage change control, and coordinate special builds.
- Drive continuous improvement and problem‑solving at the shop‑floor level.
- Implement data‑driven systems and processes to enhance shop‑floor performance.
- Inspect and measure work for accuracy and ensure proper documentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of machines and work areas.
- Verify that jobs meet scheduled deadlines and that all required parts are available.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Production Trainer to identify training needs.
- Identify and document project challenges and opportunities with Engineering.

The role involves regular physical activity such as standing for long periods, lifting up to 40 lb consistently, and occasional climbing ladders; employees must also be comfortable working in environments with electrical shock risk, moderate to loud noise, and varying weather conditions.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
- 3‑5 years of panel‑building experience.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and translate them into work instructions.
- Strong math skills and lean‑manufacturing background.
- Proficient with tape measures, basic hand tools, and power tools.
- Physical ability to stand 10‑12 hours, work on hands/knees, lift 40 lb regularly, and work at heights on ladders.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and requirements.
Benefits
The position is located in Darien, Wisconsin (ZIP 53114) and is a full‑time, 2nd‑shift role (Monday‑Friday with every other Saturday) in the manufacturing category. The role offers a salary of $75,000 per year and requires a high school education. The work schedule is the 2nd shift.
