- Provide team leadership, project management and mentoring of junior-level staff
- Work closely with other service lines to support marketing and production efforts
- Lead the Southeast Drainage team supporting the growth and performance of the organization
- Leads staff to develop plans and calculations for transportation and drainage related projects
- Oversees the performance of engineering deliverables associated with Drainage and roadway infrastructure improvements
- Represent Volkert at conferences and other client-focused or industry-focused events and making presentations in areas of individual expertise when applicable
- Assist in developing project staffing plans and work forecasting
- Have client contacts with the FDOT and Local Municipalities with the ability to market and obtain work
- Manage staff in their performance in drainage design and production for transportation projects including calculations and plans preparation
- Oversees the design of stormwater management facilities to meet water quality and quantity requirements
- Hire, Retain, supervise, and mentor staff as Drainage Engineer Lead for Southeast Region
- Oversees the design and Quality Control of roadway and drainage deliverables to various transportation departments and municipalities
- Oversees the Prepare and present project presentations, studies, and reports
- Representing Volkert with clients and stakeholders, as well as industry and market environments
- Manage and leverage group's resources and capabilities to meet company and individual goals and objectives

- Experience in Design software such as ICPR, and HEC-RAS
- Experience in design of drainage conveyance systems and plans preparation in compliance with FDOT and other client standards
- Experience and ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems
- Florida Licensed Professional Engineer or if registered in another state, the ability to obtain registration in the State of Florida within six months
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal guidelines may differ from state-specific guidelines.
- Understands applicable policies, methods, practices, and procedures
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 15+ years of drainage engineering experience post registration
- PE Required
- A satisfactory moto vehicle report (MVR).
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience in the following software: Geopak Drainage, Geopak, Inroads, Corridor Modeling, Microstation or other equivalent CAD software
- Prior experience as an experienced drainage engineer on civil or transportation projects
- Must be able to communicate effectively; verbal and written
