Research and design for optimal system including, but not limited to, layouts, calculations, investigations, schedule, etc.
Maintain contact with client as directed by Project Manager.
Prepare project reports.
Conduct site observation visits and/or punch walks.
Answer questions and give guidance to junior designers as requested by Team Lead.
Take project team from kickoff to completion without daily guidance or direction from the Team Lead or Director of Engineering.
Assist Project Manager with deliverables being sent to client by deadline.
Answer RFIs and questions from the client. Review and provide responses to product submittals.
Perform calculations, equipment and fixture selection, drafting, coordination, and all other related tasks to provide a complete design.
Coordinate architectural, structural, civil, and all other discipline designs into your design. Coordinate with other disciplines so they can incorporate your design into their design.
Incorporate all client requirements as directed.
Review own drawings, reports, and calculations for accuracy and completeness.
Address plan check comments and provide responses and revisions as needed.

Understand scope and design intent to meet owner's intent.
Have an extensive knowledge of client/agency specific standards and applicable codes. Research design codes as needed.
No degree is required but an associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
Be able to manage several projects at one time, set priorities, and accurately estimate time to accomplish tasks.
Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, guests and other situations that may arise.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, contracts, and procedures.
