-Lead the design and engineering of HVAC systems including airside, chilled water, heating hot water, steam, and exhaust systems. -Perform engineering calculations including load analysis, pressure drop, and equipment sizing. -Prepare and review technical documentation including: -Coordinate with architects, engineers, clients, construction managers, vendors, and trade partners to ensure integrated and constructible designs. -Develop mechanical utility systems such as compressed air, natural gas, and process piping. -Manage mechanical discipline scope, budget, and schedule on assigned projects. -Conduct field surveys, identify non-compliant conditions, and support construction administration activities (e.g., RFIs, submittals, punch lists). -Act as Engineer-of-Record for small to medium-sized projects when serving as Lead Mechanical Engineer. -Support proposal development, task planning, and project scheduling. -Mentor junior engineers and designers and contribute to internal training initiatives. -Lead quality assurance efforts and participate in internal design reviews.
-Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering. -Knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and building codes. -Experience in life sciences (pharmaceutical, biotech, laboratory) or food & beverage industries. -Familiarity with Revit plugins (e.g., Enscape, Unifi) and parametric tools (e.g., Dynamo, Grasshopper, Rhino). -Intermediate experience in plumbing design and documentation. -Experience in HVAC and mechanical utility system design within an AEC firm. -Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (mechanical focus) from an ABET-accredited program. -Experience with industry standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISPE, FDA, ISO, NFPA, OSHA). -Ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems and support field implementation. -Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and Bluebeam Revu. -LEED, WELL, or other sustainable design credentials or experience. -Strong coordination skills across disciplines and with construction partners. -Familiarity with GMP manufacturing environments. -Professional Engineer (PE) license in good standing.
