As a Batch Making Operator you will follow detailed formula tickets—our version of recipes—to blend chemicals and pigments. Each batch must meet performance standards, much like a perfect cake must rise properly. Consistency, safety, and quality are the core outcomes of each production run.
Daily duties include operating pumps, valves, and a compactor, performing quality checks, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace. You will track inventory, document formula updates, and work with automated raw‑material and milling systems. All tasks are performed safely and efficiently to keep production moving.
To thrive in this role, you must have hands‑on experience in milling pump systems and mixing raw materials. The job is likened to baking a cake, emphasizing timing and technique. Success requires precise handling of chemicals and pigments to create consistent, safe, high‑quality industrial coatings.
The role requires a high school diploma, basic computer proficiency, and preferably SAP experience. A strong safety mindset is essential, and the job involves lifting paint cans or cases up to 75 lb several times per shift, with reasonable accommodation when needed.
Behr Paint offers a starting hourly rate of $22, with incremental raises at six months and one year, plus a $3 shift differential for later shifts. Employees receive quarterly and holiday bonuses, 15 vacation days and 5 sick days in the first year, a 401(k) plan with a 4 % match and profit‑sharing, and competitive health coverage.
