Objectively analyze the work of coworkers and subordinates and effectively communicate improvement objectives. Initiate disciplinary measures when appropriate
Listen to directions and suggestions from employees and management regarding safe and proper work practices
Read, understand and produce work from blueprints and drawings
Understand and respond to all safety hazards, manage work crews safely
Direct supervisor grading crew
Produce quality work meeting company and industry standards
Take necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize safety hazards
Plan and execute the assigned work in accordance with those policies and procedures
Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
Identify areas of improvement and cost-savings and communicate to superintendents
Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.

Must understand verbal and written instructions and safety rules and be able to read safety signs and warnings
Display mathematical ability to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
Experience leading a crew and skills in trade or craft
Regular, reliable attendance
Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
Work productively and meet deadlines timely
Read, understand and enforce company policies and procedures.
Knowledgeable in the areas of dirt work, including excavation, grade work, surveying and final excavating work
Ten years of experience in construction is preferred, preferably civil infrastructure-related projects
Must be capable of reading and producing work from blueprints and drawings
Must be able to perform general tasks and required skills such as lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling motions as identified for the position
