Drive early identification and mitigation of technical, resourcing, and execution risks across the portfolio.
Ensure engineering approaches are scalable, competitive, and aligned with customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
Partner with senior leadership of engineering firms to drive quality, innovation, and capacity alignment with QISG needs.
Establish and maintain engineering governance frameworks, standards, and controls across the full project lifecycle (concept through closeout).
Lead, develop, and mentor Engineering Project Managers and senior engineering leaders across the platform.
Oversee a portfolio of transmission line programs and projects, ensuring alignment with schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives.
Define and execute engineering workforce strategy, including staffing models, succession planning, and capability development.

Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in the electric utility industry, with demonstrated leadership in engineering, program management, and/or management of high-voltage transmission projects across multiple phases and regions.
Comprehensive knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards, and regulations, including but not limited to ANSI, ASTM, ACI, AISC, IEEE, NEC, NESC, and relevant federal, state, and utility-specific requirements.
Expert-level knowledge of electric utility engineering and construction standards, with experience establishing and enforcing enterprise engineering policies, procedures, and controls.
Proven ability to interpret complex internal and external business issues, set strategic direction, implement best practices, mitigate enterprise risk, and resolve highly complex technical and organizational challenges.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred, with the ability to serve as a recognized technical authority and executive engineering leader.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute long-term strategic plans, drive innovation, standardization, and continuous improvement across engineering organizations.
Proven ability to lead in ambiguous, fast-paced, and complex environments, balancing competing priorities while maintaining strategic focus and execution discipline.
Deep technical expertise in structural, civil, or electrical engineering, with the ability to provide executive-level technical oversight, governance, and risk-based decision-making.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels and collaborate effectively with executives, clients, regulators, and external partners.
Demonstrated success in executive-level customer engagement, supporting key clients, participating in pursuits, and serving as a trusted engineering and delivery advisor.
Strong understanding of utility industry business processes, including program scheduling, contracting strategies, procurement, project controls, estimating, and coordination across engineering, construction, and operations.
Proven track record of leading large, multidisciplinary engineering organizations and portfolios, delivering complex, high-risk transmission programs safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Demonstrated financial and business acumen, including experience managing departmental and portfolio-level budgets, forecasting resource needs, and aligning engineering strategy with business objectives.
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university required; Master’s degree or equivalent graduate education in Engineering, Business, or Project Management strongly preferred.
Extensive experience with project controls, cost estimating, risk management, and performance reporting at a program or portfolio level.
