Assistant Manager- Piping Design Engineer

Description

• Check the completeness of the inputs received from the Technical Project Manager and basic engineering department in order to proceed to his/her work,
• Keep his competencies updated with regards to the needs of the Business,
• Aftersales services, technical assistance, inspections from the rehabilitation to the modernization of all types and brands of boilers.
• Issue EBOM’s (Engineering Bill of Materials) for raw material procurement,
• Issue and update the standard technical documentation,
• Proceed to the spooling of piping networks in the 3D model,
• Provide the engineers with information needed for the project progress,
• Manage the mechanical interfaces between the different equipment,
• Respect the pipe stress analysis reports for piping hangers location,
• Integrate equipment in the piping networks in 3D model,
• Supply of a fast and reliable service to the project teams in order to respect the document and equipment contractual delivery schedules of projects.
• Issue the manufacturing documentation (mainly isometric drawings) in compliance with internal standards and contractual requirements,
• The manufacture and maintenance of boiler parts, in particular pressure parts in its specialized workshop based in Mexico.
• Issue the manufacturing documentation in compliance with administrative standards,

Requirements

• Reading of technical documentation
• Mechanical drawings (cutting, machining, welding, assembly…)
• Thermal solar receivers (Concentrated Solar Power), that capture the sun’s rays, reflected by mirrors on the ground, and enable to produce energy 24/7 thanks to molten salts.
• Respect of the Design Process as defined in the QMS of the business line,
• 6-8 years relevant experience within an engineering context.
• Industrial boilers destined for sectors such as chemicals, petrochemicals, biomass, incineration, …
• Problem solving
• Technical conformity of drawings to internal standards and contractual requirements,
• 3D CAD knowledge (Smart Plant, Inventor)
• Understanding of professional environment in the Energy field
• Basic knowledge of usual codes / norms and good practice rules (ASME and EN)
• BE/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• 2D CAD knowledge (AutoCAD, Smart Sketch)
• Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel)
• Heat Recovery steam generators, particularly suited to operate in cycles with frequent start-ups and shutdowns. They can be installed behind gas turbines of all power ratings, brands and burning all types of fuel.
• Proficient in English, particularly in reading and writing
• Wet & dry cooling with cooling towers and air-cooled condensers for power plants.
• Certification in Piping Design Engineering.
• Knowledge of mechanical properties of steel elements (ASME and EN)
• Be proactive in the continuous improvement and REX (return on experience) processes.
