Business Unit Director - Local & Regional Government & Communities

Description

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop our local and regional government and communities business, part of our Cities and Place market. The senior leadership role drives integrated consultancy services—including project, programme, and construction management—across the UK and Europe.

• Manage development and delivery of the local and regional government business plan, budget, resource plans, and pipeline.
• Provide strategic direction across project, programme, construction management, PMO, planning, cost & commercial, and business advisory services.
• Build and lead large, diverse teams while fostering collaboration and effective communication with colleagues, suppliers, partners, and clients.
• Secure new business opportunities and drive growth across sectors and geographies.
• Ensure robust resource planning and support training, development, and career progression within the market.
• Represent Mace externally as an innovative leader, cultivating strong relationships at C‑suite and senior client levels.
• Identify, manage, and mitigate business risks while delivering service excellence and meeting balanced scorecard KPIs.
• Prioritize safety by championing a safe, diverse, and inclusive working environment that values wellbeing.
• Focus on client outcomes by owning deliverable quality, strategic results, and building long‑term client relationships.
