- Install, troubleshoot, and repair commercial doors, docks, and hardware.
- Install and configure locks, handles, closers, low‑voltage, and access control systems.
- Ensure installations comply with safety and building code regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, explaining repairs, and offering solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of service visits, repairs, installations, and required reports.
- Perform quality checks to meet Vortex’s high standards.

Vortex Doors, America’s highest quality and most customer‑centric commercial and industrial door repair company, is seeking a motivated Experienced Commercial Door Technician. Applicants should have at least four years of door industry experience.
The position is full‑time with shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and may require overtime, on‑call hours, and a valid driver’s license. Candidates must pass drug, background, and motor‑vehicle checks and be able to work in a fast‑paced, results‑oriented environment.
- Diagnose and fix routine door issues such as broken springs, hinges, locks, and electrical components; welding training available.
- Receive industry‑best training on door systems, storefront glazing, automatic doors, and certifications.
- Continued learning classes for manual doors, dock equipment, and hollow‑metal hardware.
- High school diploma or equivalent; 3+ years commercial door service experience; AAADM certification a plus.
- Knowledge of various door types, brands, hardware; proficient with hand and power tools; ability to read tape measures and perform fractional calculations.
- Understanding of safety regulations, computer literacy, and strong mechanical/technical skills.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lb+, climb ladders up to 20 ft, work on knees, and operate power tools.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, problem‑solving, and persuasive skills; detail‑oriented and self‑motivated.
- Full‑time schedule 7 AM‑5:30 PM M‑F with overtime/on‑call; must have valid driver’s license and pass drug, background, and vehicle checks.
