Prepare executive level presentation materials, visualizations, and papers regarding relevant pension and retiree welfare plans.
Summarize and analyze pension and retiree welfare results and forecasts in a meaningful way, including working with the actuaries to understand results.
Responsible for analyzing and interpreting large data sets to inform business decision-making and presenting to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organization.
Assist with quarterly meeting material and minutes for various pension and retiree welfare governance committees.
Collaborate with various pension cross-functional stakeholders to ensure processes supporting the actuarial valuation of pension and retiree welfare liabilities are appropriate and effective.
Working with a variety of third-party benefits vendors and internal contacts to ensure our programs are running as intended and in accordance with US Regulatory structure and requirements.
Continuously monitor, track, and refine analytics to enhance their accuracy and relevance over time.
Gather and validate data from various internal and external sources to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Participating in ad hoc special projects, as needed, including plan design analysis, process improvement initiatives, and mergers/acquisitions due diligence.
Project management: Assist or lead on various pension, retiree welfare, or governance related projects.

Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and strategic skills.
Knowledge of legislation and rules governing Retirement Plans in the US, including defined benefit pension plans and retiree welfare plans.
Considerable project management skills and ability to work within tight deadlines.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to build relationships at all levels within the organization.
Demonstrates ability to interpret information and analyze relationships among several parts of a problem or situation, in order to clearly articulate the findings and anticipate next steps
Understands National Grid’s extensive divestiture and acquisition history.
Demonstrates ability to apply and modify learned concepts appropriately, including executing process improvements where needed.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Math, Actuarial Science, Finance, Accounting, or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of related experience in an applicable field.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentations to various stakeholders.
Experience with finance and/or accounting concepts.
Strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task with attention to detail.
Very strong hands-on knowledge of standard office productivity tools, especially MS Excel (MS Office components, SAP, etc.).
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to stakeholder engagement.
