The role is a Lead Software Engineer for the Caterpillar Enterprise Resource Platform (ERP) template and Dealer Integrations, built on Dynamics 365 CRM and Finance & Operations. The ERP product aims to modernize dealer operations, improve customer experience and embed digital capabilities across the dealer network.
The incumbent will lead a team of four to five developers, oversee end‑to‑end ERP and integration delivery, and ensure compliance with Caterpillar’s quality, security and usability standards. Responsibilities include designing, modifying, and implementing software using agile methods, gathering client requirements, automating workflow problems, and writing or enhancing source code.
Key competencies include strong decision‑making, effective communication, and deep knowledge of software development life‑cycle, integration engineering, product design, architecture and testing. The engineer must be able to translate market requirements into robust software designs and maintain interfaces to other platforms.
Preferred expertise covers MS.NET/C# development, Azure Integration Services (Service Bus, API Management, Logic Apps, Azure Fabric), solution architecture, Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, and data‑migration tools such as Scribe Insight/Online. Experience with ERP systems, iPaaS, B2B/B2B2C integrations, Agile/SAFe at scale, and leadership in cross‑functional environments is highly valued; heavy‑industry background is a plus.
Visa sponsorship is not available, and the role is open to U.S. applicants only. Offers are contingent on a successful drug screen, and Caterpillar is an equal‑opportunity employer that values diversity, veterans and individuals with disabilities.
The position offers a salary range of $128,470 – $208,770, plus a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental and vision coverage, paid time off, 401(k) savings, health‑savings and flexible‑spending accounts, wellness programs, employee assistance, voluntary benefits, career development resources, incentive bonuses, disability and life insurance, parental leave, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement.
