Special Announcement: PSLD Lafayette operations will be moving many positions to the facility in Lebanon, IN over the next two years, and this position is included in the upcoming move. As a Team Lead you will assist the manager in leading team members, coordinating workflow and overseeing day‑to‑day operations. Occasionally you will perform various warehousing functions at a Caterpillar warehouse/distribution facility.
Key duties include operating heavy equipment such as sit‑down forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers and overhead hoists; handling materials by unloading, sorting, putting away, picking, packing and shipping parts and supplies; and leading cross‑functional meetings to track performance, set priorities and drive change.
You will interface with customers to convey their voice to the logistics team, coordinate expedited shipments, manage inventory zones, reconcile aged inventory and investigate root causes. Regular problem‑solving events and continuous‑improvement initiatives are expected, along with tracking quality, safety, velocity and cost metrics.
Safety duties involve daily equipment maintenance, logging safety data, conducting inspections and using required personal protective equipment. You will promote a safe work environment by speaking up on concerns and escalating when necessary.
Warehouse management responsibilities include directing receiving, put‑away, picking, packing and shipping activities, maintaining inventory records and reducing bottlenecks using real‑time inventory software. You will also train staff and assist with problem solving related to material movement.
The role is first‑shift, 6:30 am – 2:30 pm Monday‑Thursday at Lafayette, IN. A potential monthly attendance bonus of $200 is offered, but relocation assistance is not provided. Candidates must be proficient in English and willing to work overtime when required.
Physical requirements include lifting up to 35 lb individually (or 70 lb as a team), working at heights up to 30 ft, standing up to 8 hours on concrete, climbing ladders and tolerating noise levels up to 85 dB. The role also involves walking, squatting, bending and pushing/pulling loads for short intervals.
Effective communication requires both verbal and non‑verbal skills, empathy, assertiveness and the ability to stay focused on topics while leading improvement dialogues. Clear communication supports process improvement and team alignment.

Compensation includes a starting wage of $23.35 /hour with night‑shift premium, overtime at time‑and‑half, and a potential $200 attendance bonus.
