Liaise between Mechanical and Civil & Structural Designers
Part of a multi-disciplined team of engineers responsible to produce design deliverables for water, wastewater and process treatment plants.
Responsible for assisting in all aspects of Electrical design from site surveys of existing assets, optioneering, feasibility studies, detailed design and tender pricing.
Project managing third party designs and providing design assistance to installation and commissioning teams. Liaising with clients and subcontractors.
Provide robust leadership and a sounding board for supporting site teams.
Production of procurement specifications for Electrical equipment; cable calculations and production of detailed design construction drawings.
Work as part of a team to support project delivery function, embracing the ethos of a “one team” culture.
Provide commitment to excellence in Health & Safety (H&S) in design, complying fully with complying fully with the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations (CDM) and all other relevant H&S legislation.
Conduct regular meetings with project delivery teams to allocate resources, monitor the plan and adjust as necessary in consultation with the project delivery teams.
Provide mentorship to junior / graduate Electrical design engineers.
Monitor and update Design Change Control.
Be involved in the growth and development of the company including expansion of the direct delivery model. Tasks include the development of business cases for onboarding staff, gap analysis of required resources, recruitment and structuring.
Ensure Glan Agua’s & the Clients’ Technical Requirements are met throughout the design.
Produce Electrical design outputs as and when required.
Monitoring of design delivery performance and efficiency, adjusting and reacting as necessary to ensure targets are achieved and ensuring the MIDP is kept up to date.
Ensure Design, Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies and procedures are always adhered to.

Ability to manage design delivery and project manage.
Knowledge of the Designer and Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015.
Experience working with Thames & Yorkshire Water’s electrical design standards’ documents an advantage but not essential.
Chartered or Incorporated member of the IET with extensive experience in water or wastewater, non-infrastructure, and infrastructure design.
Strong team leader & decision maker with proven experience essential.
Water and Wastewater design experience highly desirable.
Ability to use own initiative, problem solve and adjust as issues arise.
Ability to work as part of a team in project delivery and provide input at team meetings.
Strong communication skills with a high level of motivation.
Full driving licence.
Experience managing design quality control processes.
Commercial experience is desirable.
Leadership skills to manage and motivate individuals to consistently deliver.
Flexibility to travel within the UK (including Northern Ireland) and Ireland (where our head office is based) would be advantageous to help support our overall workload.
Experience developing a programme and budget and monitoring progress against both.
Willingness to contribute to and develop technical knowledge networks.
Able to communicate clearly and work effectively to lead a multidisciplinary team.
An in-depth knowledge of the layout and interconnectivity of typical water and wastewater treatment works processes. and equipment including pumping systems.
Good working knowledge of MS packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong communication skills to interact with other engineering disciplines and clients.
Proven record in mentoring and developing staff in design.
Ability to produce clear and concise electrical design deliverables across all design stages of a project.
