Description
The Community Assistant supports the Community Manager by handling the community’s financial and operational tasks. Responsibilities include accounting and bookkeeping, preparing monthly close‑out reports, processing invoices, collecting rent and other fees, completing bank deposits and reconciliations, and using property‑management software to record and report all financial activity.
- Collect and post rent, fees, and other payments; prepare daily bank deposits, reconcile accounts, generate financial reports, and process invoices/payables.
- Operate Yardi/OneSite property‑management software, entering data accurately and performing updates/back‑ups.
- Review resident accounts for unpaid/late fees, communicate balances, enforce collection procedures, and uphold lease terms to maximize revenue.
- Review and code vendor invoices, obtain manager approval, reconcile work performed, and coordinate communication among vendors, accounting, and owners.
- Follow eviction procedures, issue proper notices, represent the community in court hearings and eviction proceedings.
- Process resident move‑outs, apply deposit and lease cancellation fees, and handle dispositions per legal and procedural requirements.
- Respond promptly to resident complaints and requests, taking action to resolve issues and boost satisfaction and retention.
- Supervise on‑site operations in the manager’s absence, delegate tasks, coordinate maintenance and make‑ready activities, and ensure policy compliance.
- Manage client/owner relationships by conducting tours, providing performance updates, and addressing owner inquiries.

Benefits
Compensation ranges from $17.50 to $20.00 hourly, with eligibility for quarterly or annual bonus programs depending on role type.
