The Role

Overview

Oversee daily benefits and wellness programs, ensure compliance and support employees.

Tasks

-Plan and execute the annual benefits open enrollment process, including coordinating employee communication and education efforts. -Review and reconcile invoices from benefit plan providers, including health insurance companies, retirement plan administrators, and other benefit vendors. -Serve as a subject matter expert and provide guidance to team members regarding benefit plan options, changes, and eligibility. -Collaborate with insurance carriers, third-party administrators, our benefit broker and benefit plan providers to resolve issues, and ensure efficient program administration. -Develop and distribute benefits-related communication materials and conduct new hire orientation. -Develop and update benefits policies and procedures, ensuring they align with best practices and organizational needs. -Manage leave requests related to short-term and long-term disabilities. Communicate leave approvals, denials, and any necessary documentation requirements to team members and supervisors. -Handle team member benefit inquiries and assist with issue resolution. -Configure the Benefit Admin System (PlanSource) based on plan update, pull reports, and complete audits to ensure the system is working correctly. -Analyze benefits utilization data to identify trends, cost drivers, and opportunities for program improvement. -Oversee and manage aspects of the employee benefits program, including health and dental insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and other ancillary benefits. -Handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, life event changes and coordinate benefits processing to include updating data as needed in all systems. -Promote wellness activities and initiatives to encourage team member participation and engagement. -Ensure that the organization's benefits programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations, such as ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and other relevant laws. -Plan and coordinate wellness events, challenges, and activities, such as fitness challenges, health screenings, and wellness fairs.

What You Bring

-Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities and balance diverse tasks. -Strong analytic and creative problem-solving abilities. -Proven customer service skills. -Proficient in excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP and basic formulas. -Effective communication – both verbal and written. -Sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential and privileged information. -Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) is preferred. -Excellent team player with the ability to work with cross-functional teams and all levels of management. -Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field and minimum 5- year benefits experience.
