Organize and manage a variety of environmental investigation and remediation tasks such as ground water monitoring, soil boring/well installations, operation and maintenance, and other activities.
Fieldbased tasks will include coordination, supervision and execution of work that includes, but is not limited to, collecting soil, sediment, water and air samples; overseeing drilling of soil borings and installation of monitoring wells; performing hydraulic conductivity tests; excavation monitoring; use of instrumentation; overseeing subcontractors; and coordinating complex field tasks with multiple staff and subcontractors. The work may be associated with former manufactured gas plant (MGP) facilities, current/former refineries and petroleum processing/storage facilities, gas stations, as well as other commercial and industrial facilities in urban, rural, or undeveloped locations.
Reporting and data reduction tasks may include preparation of site maps, soil boring logs, well construction diagrams, geologic cross sections, potentiometric surface maps, and possibly groundwater flow models.
Manage multiple project responsibilities simultaneously and track priorities.
Responsibilities will include a mix of office and fieldbased tasks and will include project execution, budgeting, scheduling, contracting, personnel supervision, compliance monitoring, data analysis/reduction, and technical reporting.
Follow established standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines to complete assignments.
Conduct Phase I Environmental Assessments and Preliminary Assessments.
Complete applicable company and clientrequired health & safety training (including OSHArequired training) and follow health & safety policies and procedures.
This position is within a larger environmental services team and will likely require providing support to multiple Stantec offices.

Experience in active industrial settings is a plus.
Geologist in Training (GIT) or Professional Geologist (PG) certification is preferred.
Ability to stand for long periods of time and traverse uneven surfaces in rough terrain.
Be conscientious, detailoriented, and disciplined.
Have excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills.
10+ years of progressively more responsible environmental assessment and remediation work experience.
Be proficient in commonly used software (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.). Experience using gINT, MODFLOW, AQTESOLV, ArcGIS, and/or AutoCAD is a plus.
Transportation Worker Identify Credential (TWIC Card) is required for access to jobsites and candidates must meet Federal TSA background check criteria and be able to obtain a TWIC Card.
Be willing to learn new skills for conducting field work, to work independently outdoors for long hours in potentially inclement weather conditions and be flexible in undertaking work assignments.
Ability to lift and move items and equipment throughout the workday weighing up to 50 lbs.
Good driving record and valid driver's license are required.
40hour HAZWOPER (OSHA Hazardous Worker) certification and current 8hour refresher certification are desired
Preemployment physical is required.
The position will involve outdoor work and the work will include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
Field work may require use of a respirator and protective clothing depending on jobsite conditions.
Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or related field.
Ability to bend, twist, stoop, and kneel throughout the workday.
Ability to climb up and down a ladder.
