This is a hands-on role. You’ll be in the numbers every day — processing transactions, reconciling accounts, supporting close, and ensuring our financial data is accurate, timely, and trustworthy 🧮.
The Staff Accountant supports day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close across a growing portfolio of real estate entities and our wholesale real estate business.
- Support CPA and external accountant requests
- Assist with tax initiatives and finance process improvements
- Use customized accounting and bookkeeping software to support daily operations
- Review, code, and post imported financial transactions
- Perform bank and balance sheet account reconciliations
- Communicate with vendors to resolve billing issues
- Conduct daily bank runs to deposit incoming checks
- Support preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Properly expense transactions or assign them to balance sheet accounts
- Post routine and accrual journal entries
- Maintain clean, organized financial tracking spreadsheets
- Takes ownership of their work
- Track and monitor recurring expenses
- Maintain clear, organized supporting schedules
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports for leadership
- Assist with month-end close across multiple entities 📅

Transaction Processing & Bookkeeping
- Experience with multiple legal entities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 🎓
- Comfortable working independently
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals (accruals, prepaids, debits & credits)
- Strong Excel / spreadsheet skills 📈
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Analytical mindset, especially with reconciliations
- 2+ years of accounting experience
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Exceptional attention to detail
