stakeholder management
  • Oversee projects effectively – leading meetings and directing stakeholders to ensure maximum efficiency. This necessitates high levels of action-orientation, organization, and clear communication at all times, including weekly and monthly meetings/reporting to peers, project team and Executives.
  • Support development teams with the use of in-house development practices and provide insight and critical analysis as to how such practices should be modified or improved.
  • Supervise and support the in-country teams in writing and presenting formal budget requests to senior leadership, Executive Management Committee and Investment Committee, ensuring the requests are well thought through and robust before they are presented.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the development approach in multiple geographies and work to improve existing ways of working and implement new processes, requiring the ability to listen to stakeholders from many different cultures, with different levels and areas of expertise and find consensus between them.
  • Ensure in-country teams are implementing effective project management practises, such as keeping project cashflows, keep documentation of changes that affect project financials and timelines accurate.
  • Provide strategic support and budgetary guidance on external negotiations relating to land rights, deeds, permits, grid offers, planning, construction contracts and PPA where required, to ensure bankable agreements are reached on time.
  • Hold in-country teams accountable for accuracy in financial models and ensuring that assumptions are robust and signed off by relevant stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across the business, enhancing the service we can provide to in-country development teams.
  • Drive development and close transactions alongside in-country development teams in a well-forecasted, timely manner that exceeds Lightsource bp’s margin requirements by coordinating different workstreams and internal departmental resource: permitting, PPA, technical, commercial engineering, procurement, legal, grid, finance, and delivery
