Overseeing the actions of more junior members of staff undertaking similar tasks and taking responsibility for their actions
Liaising with client, contractors and supplier representatives at peer level, attending progress meetings, responding to technical queries etc.
Carrying out site visits as required to inform designs or assist in scheme delivery
Leading a team to produce technically sound engineering design solutions, complying with all relevant technical DMRB and other technology standards and client requirements, often working unsupervised.
Contributing to the preparation of bids and the general work winning function
Compilation of as-built records and documentation for technology scheme handover in accordance with MCH 1349 (including Health & Safety Files)
Responsibility for the commercial success of the projects within their portfolio, controlling elements of budget and costs associated with the production of deliverables under your control or influence
The preparation and checking of technology designs or studies, calculations, drawings and documentation as part of the production of scheme deliverables that satisfy the overarching criteria of quality, cost and programme.

Supervisory and people manager skills. Capable of managing small team of internal designers and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams
Very good working knowledge of relevant software and similar analytical tools
Experienced in undertaking project related tasks associated with the management of health, safety and welfare, and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
Developed experience and technical knowledge of operational roadside technology, probably gained in a Technology Engineer role or equivalent
Incorporated or Chartered status or an equivalent professional licence gained through the professional institution to which the individual is aligned is desirable.
Able to produce technically sound engineering solutions, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements, working unsupervised and supervising more junior members of staff undertaking similar tasks. Can check deliverables to a good standard and take ownership of this .
Has a very good understanding of design and site safety risk assessment. Substantially experienced in the management and communication of hazards and risks on projects and ensures appropriate risk mitigation and transference has been applied.
A good knowledge of the various operational technology systems present on the UK road network
